Partisan

Partisan Records is an American independent record label based in Brooklyn, New York. It was started in 2007 by Ian Wheeler and Tim Putnam. Their first releases were an expanded version of Holy Sons'  Decline of the West and "The Standard's". The record label is a indie rock / folk / alternate rock and experimental label, which is a interesting mix which is why I researched them. Also I thought our artist might fit in well with this record label as the song we are doing isn't very conventionally indie folk, but our video will be. As the song has a very simple break beat in the chorus of the song which is experimental for folk as I haven't heard of another folk song with this element in the song.

Partisan Records describes itself as "a Brooklyn-based artist-run independent label dedicated to the unique visions of those we are so privileged to represent. We believe that artistry in its many forms essentially has a singular purpose: to create and share the next new story. At Partisan, our artists create the stories that others will tell."

Dangerbird

Dangerbird Records is an independent record label located in Los Angeles , California. Founded by Peter Walker and Jeff Castelaz in 2004, the label is home to artists across the globe, as well as part of the burgeoning Silver Lake music scene. Danger bird has many artists signed to it as its much bigger then partisan, it has  artists such as Silversun Pickups, Sea Wolf and Royal Teeth.




Rusted Rail

Rusted Rail is an Irish independent record label that was started in 2006 by Keith Wallace, and is still active today. Rusted Rail have released albums by artists including Phantom Dog Beneath the Moon, United Bible Studies, The Declining Winter and Songs of Green Pheasant amongst other artists from Ireland, The UK and Europe.Keith Wallace formed the label after working as station manager for Flirt FM. They release records primarily on 3" CD, but also on standard format CD. The records released by the label have received international attention for their handmade aesthetic and experimental content. The reason why independent labels such as this use 3" CD is because its a low cost way for independent musicians and groups to release music.
